Clos des Jacobins, a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé since the beginning of the classification in 1954, is a jewel among the estates of Vignobles Magali & Thibaut Decoster. It is situated on the prestigious limestone plateau of the village.

History

17TH CENTURY

The Jacobins, who lived on the periphery of the Saint-Emilion village, used farm buildings to accommodate pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela and also to produce their wine, which brought them most of their income.

1954

In this year, the first classification of the wines of Saint-Emilion, in which Clos des Jacobins was classified, was drawn up.

2005

On 1st January 2005, Magali and Thibaut Decoster moved into Clos des Jacobins and launched a substantial programme of investment.

2006

Clos des Jacobins won the Grands Crus Classés trophy at Vinexpo Hong Kong having already been semi-finalists twice previously.
