History
The first appearance of Château Montlabert as we now know it, named after Sir Jean Michel Descazes-Montlabert who built a large mansion surrounded by a park where now reside century-old trees.
Acquisition of Château Montlabert by the Castel family. After which, their main concern was studying, understanding and respecting the terroir, in order to align their wine-crafting project with their sustainable and excellence-oriented goals.
Château Montlabert obtained the Terra Vitis certification, which aims to promote sustainable and eco-friendly wine-making. In fact, Terra Vitis is the only national certification specific to wine-making that is currently recognized by the French Ministry of Agriculture.
Launch of Château Montlabert’s new technical tool, designed and created by architect Olivier Chadebost. Following the Château’s eco-friendly wine-making project, the architect conceived this tool while aligning both the traditional Saint-Émilion spirit and Château Montlabert’s uniqueness.
