This date marks the first appearance of Château Yon-Figeac in the Féret. The château was built in 1886.
As from the first classification of the wines of Saint-Emilion, the estate was ranked Grand Cru Classé. It has continued to hold this rank ever since.
In this year, the estate was bought by Alain Château, a former industrialist. Since then, multiple refurbishments have been carried out on the estate with careful respect for the terroir and with the continuing aim to produce great classic Saint-Emilion wine.
