Dominique Decoster and family
After producing porcelain in Limoges for 27 years as the owner of several companies, including Haviland, Dominique Decoster decided to sell all his businesses in 2000. In May 2001, Dominique and his wife Florence decided to buy Château Fleur Cardinale from the Asséo family.
In 2002, new cellars were built. Priority was given to new, functional equipment that would enhance the quality of the wine. In 2006, thanks to the tireless work put in, Château Fleur Cardinale was promoted to the rank of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé.
The estate’s rank in the classification was confirmed. In the same year, their daughter-in-law Caroline decided to join the adventure. Having graduated in a Masters in Wine and Spirits Management and having gained a DUAD diploma, she became the estate’s Sales and Marketing Manager.
Ludovic Decoster, their son, finally joined the team after spending nearly ten years working for the SOBOVI wine merchant house. He is today the Estate Manager and is responsible for carrying on the remarkable work initiated by his parents.
2021 is the first year of conversion to organic farming for all the Decoster family vineyards, both red and white. It is also the first year that the estate opens its doors to the public, with a sustainable wine tourism approach.
