Château Destieux
 

Created : For more than 30 years Chateau Destieux has belonged to the Dauriac family whose passion has underpinned the constant progress of this vintage.

Situation : Chateau Destieux is set on one of the two highest spots in Saint-Emilion. The 20 acre (8 hectare) estate is all in one piece and enjoys a superb all round view of the Dordogne valley as far as the hills of Montagne Saint-Emilion.

Surface area : 20 acres (8 hectares)

Soil Type : The vines plunge their roots into a clay limestone soil which is slightly influenced by a thin layer of silicia sands at the top of the plateau.

Grape varieties : merlot 66 %,cabernet franc 17 %,cabernet sauvignon 17 %

Average age of vines : 45 years
