Château Guadet

A time-honoured vineyard planted on Saint Emilion’s high clay plateau. 50 meters or so from the town gates. The name comes from the Deputed Girondin’s family Marguerite Elie GUADET from whom Guy-Petrus LIGNAC family buy the estate in 1840.
M. E. Guadet, lawyer and “Girondin” parliamentary member. He is said to have gone into hiding in the
magnificent cellar that run beneath the estate.
His effigy is still used on the estates wine label.
This vineyard received many medals in international
tasting in Paris and Bruxelles. The estate is consulted by the Stéphane DERENONCOURT team.
The vineyard of Guadet is in conversion to organic since 2008.
